Three epic Farmers’ Markets in West Cork
Visitors are sometimes surprised to learn that West Cork is the epicenter of artisanal food production in Ireland.
Gourmet cheeses, handcrafted condiments and jams, and exotic organic vegetables are just some of the high-end edibles produced here. Take a stroll through one of these vibrant outdoor markets and see for yourself.
Plan ahead! O’Donovans will be gathering in Cork City and West Cork for Assembly 2028. Mark your calendar: 22-26 June, 2028. Details will be available in early 2027 and shared on our Mailing List.
Skibbereen Market
The highly-regarded Saturday market in Skibbereen is awash with organic produce, fresh fish, artisanal breads and great coffee.
Moreover, vendors offering everything from jewelry and yarn to hot prepared foods like tacos and crepes, make this market a weekly must-do for locals.

Bantry Market
Right beside Bantry Bay is Wolfe Tone Square, the center of life in this pretty town.
The weekly market offers homegrown produce and freshly baked goodies, as well as clothing, jewelry and lovely items from local artisans. Bantry also boasts interesting shops and the historic Bantry House.
Fridays, 9:30 – 1:00, Wolfe Tone Square, Bantry.
Clonakilty Market
Friday market in the heart of Clonakilty, one of West Cork’s most prosperous and welcoming towns.
