Assembly 2025
Thanks to the generosity of O’Donovan donors and friends, the O’Donovan Clan Cultural Association has become a reality.
Our inaugural Association Assembly took place in West Cork, Ireland on 5-7 September, 2025.
Presentations, roundtable discussions and social events helped members from around the world, to craft a common vision for the future.
Beginning on Friday with a gala film screening, the weekend culminated in a banquet luncheon and 25th anniversary commemoration of the 2000 O’Donovan Millennial Gathering.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, as O’Donovans and Donovans from Ireland and the Diaspora joined together to envision a dynamic future for the Clan!
The planning process is ongoing. Input from all stakeholders is encouraged as we continue to shape the direction of the O’Donovan Clan Cultural Association. Join our Mailing List (below) to stay current with news and to learn how you can be part of something historic!

Location
Assembly events will take place in Clonakilty and Skibbereen, two of West Cork’s most dynamic towns. Friday’s events in Clonakilty will be followed by two conference days at the West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen. Throughout the following week, explore the locality with visits to local attractions, guided walks and tours.

Wild Atlantic Way
Guided by local experts, take advantage of West Cork’s legendary landscape in a kayak, on a bike, or on a quiet walk in a seaside garden. Stay awhile and experience the beauty of the O’Donovans’ ancestral land.

Touring Options
Assembly attendees can plan to come early/stay on after the weekend’s activities. Itineraries will be posted for exploration of Cork, Cobh and Waterford, West Cork and Kerry, Clare and Limerick, Galway and Connemara, Dublin and Wicklow, and more.

Public Transport
Though Ireland’s southwest remains rural, public transportation is improving; even remote villages are now more accessible. Both locations are on local public transport routes, and taxis are available.

Solo Travelers
Independent adventurers will find a warm welcome in O’Donovan Country. From hotels and B&Bs to simple hostel accommodation, solitude or companionship – it’s your choice. Cottage rentals are also available.
